On the Ground in Austin: Iteris and Almaviva at the APTA Mobility Conference

Last month, Iteris and Almaviva took another exciting step forward in our shared journey—this time, together in Austin, Texas, at the 2024 American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Mobility Conference.

For the first time since the completion of Iteris’ acquisition by Almaviva, colleagues from both companies came together in person to collaborate, align, and represent our unified vision at an industry conference. From insightful conference sessions to team strategy meetings and memorable group dinners, the week was filled with energy, innovation, and meaningful connection.

At APTA, Almaviva showcased its MoovA platform, a powerful mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) solution that’s transforming public transit in Italy and beyond, while we highlighted our PedSafe® technology— the industry’s most advanced pedestrian safety system, designed to protect vulnerable road users in all environments. Together, our systems emphasized how integrated, data-driven platforms can empower transit agencies and reshape mobility ecosystems.

One of the highlights of the event was a compelling presentation by Stefania Di Serio, Country Manager for Almaviva USA and Canada, pictured above. Stefania shared how lessons from the Italian mobility model could be applied to the U.S. landscape, sparking thoughtful questions and great interest from attendees.

This trip wasn’t just about sharing technology—it was about building relationships, strengthening our partnership, and setting the stage for the impactful work ahead. Plus, introducing our Italian colleagues to some of the best BBQ Austin has to offer! With upcoming joint appearances like the ITS World Congress in Atlanta, we’re just getting started.

Together, we’re driving smarter mobility—across continents, and into the future.
